my annual ride to raise for Diabetes--can you help me, or join our team?

I was diagonsed later in my life with T1D-10 years ago--and this experience has made me aware of the challenges of living with a chronic disease. To help counter this, I plan to join my team in many activities accross the country to raise funds and awareness to help find the cure for T1D. I will be biking 40 miles on a sandbar out in the Atlantic Ocean (some call it Jones Beach!!) with my friends.
Like many with T1D, movment helps us manage our Blood Glucose levels. I try to keep fit as best I can, and love to be outdoors biking, doing Yoga , hiking, whatever! I have found an enormous 'lift' from being connected with so many wonderful friends who are on this same journey.
In the past few years I have also experienced the importance of maintaining a consistant meditation practice for my overall well being---which has helped me manage my diabetes in new and profound ways. This has led me to the DiabetesSangha, the team I am leading to help fundraise for finding a cure!
As to 'the cure'--I am happy to support the DRI in their dedication and passion to find a cure for T1D. They have the experience, the team, the vision to make this happen. Their contributrions to date are groundbreaking. Togehter we can find a cure ! THANK YOU for your suport.
The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation is the organization of choice for those who are serious, passionate and committed to curing diabetes. Its mission – to provide the Diabetes Research Institute with the funding necessary to cure diabetes now – is a testament to the belief that tomorrow is not soon enough to cure those living with diabetes.
